Regular Business Cards
Perfect for making a solid first impression
There's not a day goes by when there aren't boxes of business cards leaving our print room in Kilcoole. People tell us all the time that nobody uses printed cards any more, but we're shipping thousands of boxes a year to businesses across Dublin and the rest of Ireland that say otherwise. Whether you're starting a new business, you've just been promoted, or your phone number changed and the old cards are useless, these are the bread and butter of what we do.
Stock and Finish Options
Our regular business cards come on either 350gsm silk or 350gsm uncoated card.
The silk is a coated stock. Nice and smooth without being too glossy. Most people go with this. The uncoated card has a matte feel and look, and it works well if you want to write on the card with a pen (more on that below).
Both stocks are printed in-house here in Wicklow, so you're not waiting on a parcel from an online printer overseas. If something needs tweaking, we catch it before it prints, not after it's shipped.
If you're after a thicker card with a laminate finish, have a look at our premium business cards.
Standard and US Business Card Sizes
Our standard cards are 85 x 55mm. That's the same size as a credit card, so they fit into any wallet or cardholder without bending or sticking out.
We can also do US-sized cards at 89 x 51mm. They're a bit wider but not as tall. Worth knowing: a huge amount of Canva templates default to US sizing. If you've designed your card in Canva, double-check the dimensions before you send it. US-sized cards don't always fit into European wallets and cardholders, and it's one of the most common issues we flag with customers.
Double-Sided vs Single-Sided Business Cards
We print double sided as standard. Having the back blank just looks like you went for a cheaper option, even when you didn't. Even a small logo or symbol in the centre will make the card look a million times better.
There is a single-sided option if you genuinely need it. Some people want the back plain so they can write out details or use it for note-taking. One restaurant we print for uses business cards in their bill holders. They write a personal message on the back asking the diner to leave a Google review. They told us the handwritten note led to a real jump in the number of reviews they get. Smart use of a blank card.
Common Business Card Design Mistakes
The single biggest mistake we see, and this goes across the board for most of the print we do, is trying to cram too much onto one card. Your name, address, QR code, a few photos, product descriptions, website, every social media handle. It's tempting. But the result is always cluttered and hard to read.
Our advice: front side for your name and contact details. Back side for a logo, an image or a few short bullet points. Keep the product descriptions and photo galleries for your flyer or brochure.
Turnaround and Delivery
Standard turnaround is 2-3 working days. Place an order on a Monday with print-ready artwork and we'll have your cards ready by Wednesday. Collect free from our print room in Kilcoole, or we can send them next-day anywhere in Ireland by DPD courier.
If you're in a rush, have a look at our same-day business cards. Order with print-ready artwork by 11am and collect or dispatch the same day.
Artwork
Send your artwork as a PDF or JPEG in CMYK colour at 300dpi. Add 3mm bleed on all sides and keep text at least 3mm from the trim edge. If anything looks off, we'll flag it before we print. We have a downloadable business card template if you want to work from a ready-made file.
Not sure about your artwork? Send it over and we'll check it for free before anything goes to press.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do business cards cost?
Pricing starts from €XX for 100 cards on 350gsm silk, printed double sided in full colour. The per-card price drops at higher quantities. Get in touch for a quick quote or check the pricing table above.
What size is a standard business card in Ireland?
85 x 55mm. It's the same dimensions as a credit card. We also print US-sized cards at 89 x 51mm, but be aware these don't always fit European wallets and cardholders.
Can I print my own business cards at home?
You can, but most home and office printers max out at around 250gsm. Business cards printed on thin paper feel flimsy and the cut edges are rarely clean. For anything you're handing to a customer or at a meeting, it's worth getting them properly printed on 350gsm card.
What's the difference between silk and uncoated card?
Silk is a coated stock with a smooth, clean feel. Uncoated has a matte, natural texture and takes pen well. Most people choose silk. Uncoated works better if you plan to write on the card.
How long do business cards take?
2-3 working days from receipt of print-ready artwork. We also offer same-day printing for orders placed before 11am.
Do you deliver business cards to Dublin?
Yes. Next-day delivery by DPD courier to Dublin and anywhere in Ireland. You can also collect free from our print room in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.
Can I order a small quantity?
Yes. Our minimum order is 50 cards. Most people order 250 or 500 at a time since the per-card price drops with quantity.
