PVC Banner Printing

PVC banners are a staple across the board. There's no one sector that owns them. We've printed them for the local church to carry in the St Patrick's Day parade, for a restaurant in Clontarf announcing their opening, for railings outside new builds, and for an Irish soccer club heading to Spain who found it easier to print here and bring them than try to arrange printing over there.

They work for something short-term like a weekend event, where a paper poster would tear outside in the wind and rain. They also work for something you'll use over and over again. We printed branding banners for Electric Picnic that get folded down at the end of the festival and taken back out the following year.

What We Print On

We use a premium 550gsm PVC banner material. Everything is hemmed as standard, which reinforces the edges, keeps the banner square, and stops it stretching over time. We then add metal eyelets, not plastic ones.

One thing we can do that's worth knowing about: we can note the exact eyelet positions from your previous banners. The Harcourt Hotel in Dublin swap out their banners through the year. A summer BBQ one, a Christmas bookings one, a Superbowl one. Because we match the eyelet positions, they never have to redrill holes. The new banner drops straight onto the existing fixings.

We can also put a loop top and bottom for a wooden dowel, which weighs the banner out and keeps it straight if you're hanging it from a pole or carrying it.

Hanging and Weather

PVC banners are made to last in Irish rain. We print with waterproof inks in-house at our workshop in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow, so the colours don't run. Most people cable tie them to railings, but you can screw them into walls too.

If the banner is going to be out in the open with nothing behind it, it will act like a sail. For exposed or windy spots, a PVC mesh banner with tiny perforations is the better option. It lets wind pass through instead of catching it.

Sizes

The longest single-piece banner we've printed was 20 metres. For anything that long we'd advise breaking it into manageable sections. If one section gets damaged you replace that piece rather than reprinting the full run.

Artwork and Ordering

A print-ready PDF is always preferable. Send it with 3mm bleed, and keep important content like logos and dates away from the edges where the eyelets will go. You don't want a metal eyelet punched through your event date.

Turnaround depends on size and quantity, but we can have banners ready in 24 hours. Sometimes it's easier to work backwards. Tell us when you need it and we'll tell you if we can hit that date. Not Sure PVC Is Right?

For windy locations, mesh banners let wind pass through. For indoor exhibition backdrops, fabric banners give a more polished look. For temporary indoor signage, a printed poster might be all you need.

Common Questions

What size PVC banner can I get?

Any size you need. We print custom sizes to order. The longest we've done in one piece was 20 metres, though for anything over about 3-4 metres we'd suggest splitting into sections for easier handling and replacement.

How long do PVC banners last outdoors?

Years, if they're not in a spot where they're constantly battered by wind. The print won't fade or run. The main enemy is wind stress on the material and fixings, not the weather itself.

What's the difference between PVC and mesh banners?

PVC is solid material. It blocks wind completely, which means it acts like a sail in exposed locations. Mesh has tiny perforations that let wind pass through, making it better for fences, scaffolding, or anywhere with no shelter behind the banner.

Can you match existing eyelet positions?

Yes. Send us a measurement of your current setup or the old banner and we'll place the eyelets in the same positions. Useful if you rotate banners seasonally.

How quickly can I get a PVC banner?

Can I get a double-sided PVC banner?

Yes. Double-sided works well for banners that will be seen from both directions, like hanging from a pole or spanning a street.
